The Moropreneur Inc. conducted a Training of Trainers on Bridging Khalifah + Active Citizens for the Peer Educator and Facilitators (PEF) of the Women Empowerment through Craft (WE Craft) Project on September 24-26, 2018 at Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City. Aside from the PEFs, the activity was also attended by the Municipal GAD Focal Persons in Maguindanao.
The 18 PEFs from the target barangays were equipped with knowledge and skills needed for the implementation of the Bridging Khalifah + Active Citizens sessions in their respective communities. The PEFs were selected from the target Barangays of the WE Craft Project in Maguindanao and Basilan where the community sessions will also be conducted.
In Maguindanao, the target Barangays are Brgy. Buayan and Kanguan in Datu Piang, Brgy. Madia in Datu Piang, Brgy. Orandang in Parang, Brgy. Satan in Shariff Aguak, and Brgy. Bulalo and Katidtuan in Sultan Kudarat.The target Barangays in Basilan are Brgy. Parang Basak and Brgy. Ba-as in Lamitan City and Brgy. Taberlongan and Brgy. Tubigan in Maluso.
The TOT sessions were facilitated by TMI Executive Director Selahuddin Y. Hashim and Basilan Provincial Coordinator and Active Citizens Master Trainer Jimyashier Talangtalang.
The Bridging Khalifah training module is sub-divided into three modules titled: “I am Good”, “Being Good to Others”, and “Let’s Build Our Community.” The participants enjoyed the interactive sessions and felt comfortable sharing their stories and ideas to their fellow participants.
Nulfarid S. Ampatuan, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of Maguindanao was also present during the activity. In his message, he urged the Municipal GAD Focal Persons to include activities for the sustainability of the WE Craft Project in their 2019 GAD Budget proposal. He also committed to support the replication of the Bridging Khalifah + Active Citizens community sessions in other municipalities of Maguindanao.
The PEFs will conduct a series of Bridging Khalifah + Active Citizens community sessions in their respective Barangays this whole month of October.
